The AWAH Z3 is a compact ascender and descender powered by a standard drill. It offers the functionality of both a power ascender and an auto-blocking descender—without the need for bulky machines or complex pulley systems.
To ascend, simply anchor the device, attach your drill, and activate it to lift. For descents, the Z3 works like a classic auto-blocker (such as the Petzl Rig, CMC Clutch, or Petzl Maestro), with the speed controlled via its ergonomic handle. The Z3-FIRE version includes a built-in swivel and supports higher loads, making it ideal for demanding environments like technical rescues.
The AWAH Z3 is engineered in accordance with EN 12841:2006 and EN 341:2011 standards.
• Fire Model: Engineered for emergency and rescue operations, with reinforced braking, swivel, and a higher load capacity (up to 285 kg).
• Prof Model: Optimized for daily industrial and construction use, offering a balanced mix of durability, efficiency, and ease of setup (up to 200 kg load capacity).
Both share an IP66 rating for full dustproof protection and resistance to powerful water jets.
Use semi-static ropes 10 mm–11 mm in diameter that comply with EN 1891. Ensure the rope is certified and in good condition before each use.
For optimal performance, it's recommended to use a brushless cordless drill with a torque of 120–160 N·m (or 1100–1450 in-lbs) and no impact function.
You must use the Awah Z3 with:
• A certified full-body harness
• A rope grab or fall-arrest device
• A backup safety line
Never operate without proper fall-protection equipment.
Yes. All Awah Z3 models (Fire and Prof) carry an IP66 rating for full dustproof protection and resistance to powerful water jets. After use in harsh environments, rinse and dry your unit thoroughly.
• Inspect all components (body, rope guide, swivel joint) before each use.
• Clean with fresh water and mild soap; avoid harsh solvents.
• Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
• Refer to the user manual for complete maintenance instructions.
• Have your unit serviced annually—or after heavy use—by an authorized technician.
